Leash Rules

IMPORTANT PLEASE READ:

Before filling out our application you should already have a plan for pulling an animal, if the animal is in a shelter, and getting it to a temporary foster home or boarding facility to await transport. You should also have a plan to meet our transport with the animal as close to Interstate 5/99 as possible on the day of transport.

For the safety of our transporters, all animals should be up to date on shots. In the event an animal is not up to date on shots, or it is unknown if the animal is up to date on shots, the sender is required to provide a crate for the animal for transport.

For the safety of the other dogs on transport and at overnight locations, dogs may be required to be out of the shelter illness free for at least 2 weeks prior to transport.

Application deadline is Wednesday at Noon the week prior to transport but placement will be determined by available space. Efforts will be made to place a dog on the next available transport but please be aware there are times when the next available transport is 2-3 weeks out.

Applications will be considered in order received and in accordance with available space.

Sender will provide crate if mandatory. If this is not feasible please explain in the “Additional Information” box.

Sender will provide two collars (or one collar/1 harness) AND two leashes per dog. If this is not feasible, please explain in the “Additional Information” box.

Sender will provide food for overnight stays if applicable.

Senders and receivers will agree to meet our transporters at a mutual place for drop off and pick up.

Gettin’ Em Home Transport is comprised of volunteer transporters who transport and provide overnight accommodations when necessary. We do not rescue, foster, adopt or pull animals from shelters. There is no fee for transporting services but contributions for fuel is greatly appreciated.
